Alaska Creel and Cartridge Lodge is owned and run by Kim and Sherrie Saner. We opened the Lodge in 2016 and are the newest lodge in the area. But we’re not new to Alaska, having lived here for 14 years now and our love for hunting and fishing spans a few decades. This is more than a lodge, it is our home. The uniqueness of Alaska and the exciting opportunities for adventure it offers, pushed us to share even a small part with you.
Growing up in blue collar families and working hard ourselves, we know how hard you have to work for your dollar. Many deserving folks will never be able to afford a trip like you are contemplating. If you have chosen to trust us with your time and money we sincerely want to make sure you get the most out of your trip. For every dollar you spend we want to give you two great memories to take back with you.
Come to Alaska to fish, see bears and glaciers or just to relax. Meet new friends and get closer to the ones you already have. Bring your family for an unforgettable trip. Don’t fish? That’s OK, Horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, whale watching, bear viewing; Alaska has something for everyone and we’ll help you find it.
Overlooking Longmere Lake we are only minutes from the Kenai River and 6 miles north of Soldotna. We have 6 bedrooms that can sleep 3 or 4 of our new found friends per room. Just enough folks to put excitement in the air but not too many that we can’t make everyone feel like family. Our lodge is what a quality Alaskan lodge should be. Modern accommodations with the Alaskan touch. After a great day of fishing you can enjoy the hot tub with views of the lake, sit on the deck or by the fire and tell tall tales.
We know that your guide can make or break a fishing trip. Not only do we have experienced river fishing guides with extensive knowledge of power boat fishing on the Kenai and drifting the Kasilof but they are fun too! We want you to catch as many laughs and memories as you do fish. Our saltwater Captains know the Kachemak Bay like the back of their hand. Our flyout fishing trips are second to none. Your pilot will take you to remote locations only accessible by plane where your line may be the only one to hit the water in that area for the year. No matter where we take you, you’ll use quality boats, equipment and tackle carefully selected for Kenai fishing.
Fishing anywhere in Alaska is the experience of a lifetime. What is there to say about fishing the Kenai Peninsula except world class Salmon! Trout! Halibut! Rockfish! Lingcod! Nowhere on the planet is there a greater abundance of quality fish. Everyone knows that in 1985 the World Record King Salmon weighing 97 lb 4 oz was caught in the Kenai River. But did you know that the Kenai River fish count in 2016 for Kings was over 22,000; Sockeye was over 1.3 Million. On even years the Pinks literally fill the river. You could land the next World Record or at least swear he was on your line!
